History

Winegrowers from father to son since 1925

Since its beginnings in 1925 in Corbeny, the family business "Maison CURTIL" has embodied excellence in the production of sparkling wines. Supported by a tradition handed down from generation to generation, it offers its customers beverages of unrivalled quality, steeped in the history and expertise of the Curtil family.

To celebrate our 100th anniversary, we wanted to mark the occasion with a new range specially designed for professionals.

Our Saint Marcouls have become a benchmark for quality sparkling wine for our private customers, so we want to make our products known to a wider public looking for excellent value for money.

An enduring story

1925-1926

Mr Pierre Curtil planted the first vines, marking the birth of the estate. This founding step enabled the company to start producing and selling quality white and rosé wines. At the same time, it became involved in the wine and drinks trade, even offering a home delivery service, thereby forging close links with the community.

Sadly, Pierre, a member of the Resistance in the Second World War, died in deportation after being captured, leaving behind him a legacy of courage and determination.

1944

His son Jean, together with my great-grandmother Yvonne, took over the business and successfully introduced the first bottles of sparkling wine.

1973

It was his grandson Joël's turn to take over the business. He developed the sparkling wine production by creating a quality sparkling white wine, followed by a sparkling rosé.

2015

Today, it's me, Johan Curtil, Pierre's great-grandson, who is carrying on the tradition and passionately running the Maison CURTIL, accompanied by my brother Mickael.
